The title “Dystopia Brazil” already foreshadows a future without hope. Drawing from the sources of genre icons such as George Orwell’s “1984” and Margaret Atwood’s “The Handmaid’s Tale,” this collaborative play explores situations like the military intervention in Rio de Janeiro and the encroachment of religion on the power of the state.

The audience is not left out either. Filmed throughout the performance, they are encouraged to applaud speeches, pray, and judge a lesbian couple in the play.
